As I tucked the boys into bed last night, I thought about what a wonderful summer we have had together.а We were able to spend a lot of time together as a family doing a lot of fun things.
Yes, there were many times we had to referee the inevitable arguments that happened among the boys.а An age range of 10, 8, 6 & 4 tends to lead to different perceptions of who should get to do things first, orаwho should have to clean up messes.
However, there is no doubt that my husband and I have been incredibly blessed with the children that we have and the family we have made.а We love living in Jackson County surrounded by wonderful family and friends.
One of the stops we made this summer, on our way to Mike's family reunion, was at the Sago Mine Disaster Memorial.а The event, whichаoccurred on Anderson's 2nd birthday, was something the boysаquietly discussed as we walked around the memorial.а What a tragic loss for these families.а Our neighbor, Mark, is a coal miner.а Hearing about the tragedy made the boys a little more concerned for his safety.а We should be grateful to all coal miners, past and present, who have risked their lives for the sources of energy and products we have.
